Battery disposal and identification

Safety and environmental protection depend on you and me. Many times, people's practice is to throw away the battery. I have never thought that this will cause great pollution to the environment and waste of resources. How to treat the scrap battery is correct. Now, let's talk about it.

Identification of scrapped batteries

Appearance judgment: obvious swelling, breakage, leakage, deformation;

Voltage determination: single cell voltage ≥ 4.27V, (non-high pressure formula) or lower than 2.6V;

Internal resistance judgment: the internal resistance of the battery is infinite (testing out), or more than twice the initial internal resistance;

Capacity determination: the capacity of two consecutive discharges is less than 70% of the nominal capacity;

Disposal of waste batteries

Isolation mark: The battery that has been determined to be scrapped needs to be clearly marked and stored separately. It is strictly forbidden to perform charging or discharging action. The temporary storage position must meet the fire prevention requirements, such as iron cabinets and iron drums;

Soaked brine: According to the 1:20 ratio of salt water, it is packed in a wide-mouth container (such as turnover basket, iron drum, etc.), placed in the open air around (no flammable and explosive materials around), and the battery is immersed in salt water > 2 hours, no more than 3 groups at a time;

After the immersion, the wreckage is taken out with a tongs, and after confirming that there is no voltage or no longer heating, it can be treated as general solid waste;
